Tutorial: How to Use the Calculator
Follow these steps to estimate materials and costs for a framed wall project:
- Enter Project Information: Provide the project name, location, client details, date, and the name of the person preparing the estimate in the "Project Info" tab.
- Define Wall Parameters: In the same tab, input the wall length, height, and areas of doors and windows to calculate the total wall area.
- Add Material Layers: Switch to the "Materials" tab, click "Add Material Layer" to select a material (e.g., Gypsum Board), choose its type, thickness, dimension, cost, waste factor, and specify plies for one or both sides.
- Set Cost Parameters: Go to the "Costs" tab to input currency, material/accessory costs, daily labor wage, number of laborers, preparation/cleanup times, and additional cost percentages (contingency, overhead, equipment, profit).
- Calculate Results: Click the "Calculate" button to see the results, including material quantities, accessory needs, labor details, and total costs.
- Download PDF: Use the "Download as PDF" button to generate a professional report for documentation or client sharing.
- Reset (Optional): Click the "Reset" button to clear all inputs and start a new estimation.
Tip: Use the placeholder values as a starting point and adjust based on your project specifics.
